There are certain elements we believe make a venue Instagramable, beautiful lighting, breathtaking backdrops, picturesque locations (no filter needed!) and of course that WOW factor, Sol y Sombra has them all.

Beautiful Lighting

We are blessed that the original stained glass windows in 10 Bridge Street have been beautifully restored, the sun shining through these magnificent windows makes for spectacular photographs.

The historic setting lends itself well to low lighting and candles to give the venue an intimate romantic feel.

Breathtaking Backdrops

Nothing says Instagram feed quite like a standout backdrop, we are particularly fond on the circular stain glass window above the alter, the original brick arches over the bar and the eye catching bell tower that was once used to warn the locals of the invasion of the Black and Tans.

Photograph Locations

Sol y Sombra is nestled in the picturesque town of Killorglin, in the heart if Ireland’s Reeks District, you will be spoilt for choice for your wedding photographs. Killorglin is surrounded by stunning landscapes perfect for spectacular photographs. However if you prefer photos with a bit more of an edge why not have the backdrop of your photos be one of the town’s many murals that have been created by K-FEST. The town itself is full of tradition, beauty and art, the perfect setting to capture memories.

The WOW Factor

One of our favourite things about wedding day’s in 10 Bridge Street is looking at the guests reaction when they walk up the cobblestones and into the venue. After receiving an invitation to a wedding in a chic restaurant and bar, the reaction guests have when they see that the venue is in fact a 200 year old converted church takes their breath away. The building was built for weddings, couples have celebrated their love here for centuries and we are so pleased to be able to carry on that tradition. Your guests will again be amazed when the venue is transformed again from an intimate ceremony setting to a wedding reception all while they have been enjoying a few sociables in one of the towns many drinks reception venues.
