Due to Covid-19 Richard and Aisling couldn’t travel home the last few years, so this made their wedding, a wedding homecoming! We only met Richard and Aisling a few days ahead of their wedding, before that it was all Zoom calls and emails. The day we met Richard and Aisling it was actually their first time ever in 10 Bridge street!
Richard and Aisling were married but humanist celebrant Sarah O’Donovan, and they choose a unique Scottish wedding tradition of drinking from a Quaich as part of their wedding ceremony. A Quaich is a cup/bowl with 2 handles on it. The tradition goes, that each person chooses a drink to put into the Quaich, the drinks mix together, signifying, two lives becoming one. The couple both hold each handle and take a drink until the Quaich is finished. It was our first time having a Quaich in a weddings ceremony at 10 Bridge Street but we hope it won’t be our last!
After the ceremony, the bride and groom and all their guests headed to Kingston’s for drinks. They were absolutely blessed with the weather! After a few drinks and canapes everyone returned to 10 Bridge Street for a Mediterranean style 9 course sharing meal. It was lovely to see so many of Richard and Aisling’s friends make the journey from Australia to celebrate with them, it was a very special day!
Congratulations to Richard and Aisling!

"So many good things to say about 10 Bridge Street! The team and the venue were incredible in every way. Living in Australia and not having been back home due to Covid for 4 years we had to plan our wedding from overseas. We could not have been luckier with having Katie to help us organise so much, from initial advice all the way through to coordinating our other suppliers it made everything so relaxing. During our wedding day, Katie was never far away to make sure everything was running smoothly. The venue is just so special and the food was incredible, (not just because it was our wedding) it has to be some of the best food I've ever eaten at a wedding. All of our guests with dietary requirements were so carefully and thoughtfully looked after and spoke so highly of their meals afterwards too. The way the team transformed the venue from ceremony space to dining room to dancing floor was so seamless and proved no disruption to the proceedings. The staff were all fantastic and made sure everyone was taken care of, our guests have not stopped telling us how much they enjoyed the day. The team should be very proud of what they have created at 10 Bridge Street, a truly unique and blissful wedding venue and experience. If you want to have cherished memories of your special day then look no further than 10 Bridge Street!"
