Like many couples in 2020, James and Edel’s wedding plans changed drastically in the wake of Covid-19. Initially the two had planned a destination wedding in Spain, however when the pandemic hit and it was clear this would not be an option, the couple opted for the most westerly part of Spain… Sol y Sombra in Killorglin! I was the ideal fit, keeping the Spanish feel but also being able to celebrate with their friends and family locally.
A week ahead of James & Edel’s Wedding the government announced the country would be entering Level 4 restrictions, meaning weddings dropped from allowing 50 guests to 25. A difficult task for James and Edel, who are both local to Killorglin and both families have businesses in the area. However, come hell or high water these two were going to tie the knot on Saturday October 17th.
Due to the 11:30 pm curfew the couple opted for a 12 pm ceremony, that started on an incredibly special note, and the groom sang his bride to be down the aisle waiting until the last moment to turn and reveal is stunning wife to be. The ceremony was very personal, officiated by Spiritual Celebrant Elizabeth Drew and incorporated many of their friends and family.
After the new Mr & Mrs Flynn had signed on the dotted line, they headed off to Caragh Lake for some stunning photographs, before returning to town and make sure to get a few photos in their hometown as well.
